Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) testing and Monitoring solutions -Occupational Safety & Health Services /Solutions (OSHS).
These services are carried out to ensure that every workplace is free of any hazards, and complies to laid down standards to assure safety of employees. Some of these services include but are not limited to Registration of workplaces, Registration of plant, Registration of Approved persons and institutions, workplace inspection & audits, Examination & testing of plants, Accident investigation & WIBA processing.
- Registration and Renewal of Workplaces and Plants
(a)Workplaces
We help you to have your DOSH services done while you enjoy you concentrate on your business’ production. Running up and down is never easy! Instead of taking administrative employees to register work place or plants Bixtron Safety Handlers will do this service for you at an affordable and reasonable fee.
Per OSH statutes- You are expected to apply for the registration of a workplace. This is done using the following forms: DOSHS 21A, DOSHS 21B, and DOSHS 23. We help you our clients to perform a self-assessment of your workplace. Once filled, and we forward to the DOSHS county offices where we pay requisite fees for our clients and bill them later and we follow up with DOSHS headquarters.
We follow up on the Registration certificate wither to county headquarters, to make sure you obtain Workplace Registration Certificate on time.
(b) Plants
By helping you to get registration of plants, from DOSHS Bixtron Safety Handlers Ltd helps further to advise clients to maintain installation and examination information on boilers, hoists and lifts, cranes etc and other lifting equipment, air receivers, steam receivers, refrigeration plants, cylinders for compressed/liquefied gases. As Industries are expected to apply for the registration of a plant. This is done using the following forms: DOSHS 20.To facilitate fast application and certification- we pay the requisite fees and forward the forms to the DOSHS headquarters then bill you later. As we follow up for the certification with registry.
Bixtron Safety Handlers has qualified technical teams and we assign certified and competent persons for provision of DOSHS prescribed services. The approved persons include Occupational Safety and Health Advisers, Fire Safety Auditors, Air Quality Monitors, Plant Examiners, Designated Health Practitioners, and Engineering Control Examiners. Who through work hand in hand with DOSHS Officers to determine your internal needs.
- Workplace Inspection
As independent consultants; Bixtron Safety Handlers will check on the condition of workplaces to prevent injuries, illnesses, incidents, and accidents. Through a critical examination of the workplace, inspections help to identify and record hazards for corrective action and offer detailed report to our clients.
To conduct an inspection, a Technical officers will be available for you to conduct planned workplace checks. They check compliance to laid processes and procedures, conditions of the workplace, compliance to legal requirements. The Technical officers though a report recommends the appropriate action based on the conditions observed at the workplace.The Audit report is written in accordance with the code of practice for OSH auditing.
ii.Fire Safety Audit: – Carried out by approved Fire safety auditors. Fire audit report
iii.Hygiene Surveillance: – Surveillance on workplace contaminants and hazards which include the following;
- Noise survey;
- Air quality monitoring;
- Thermal Environment survey;
- Environment impact assessment;
- Audit of ventilation etc.
iv.Other Risk Assessment: – Both quantitative and qualitative assessment of a workplace carried out at the inception of a workplace and thereafter, upon major changes that may alter risk levels in the workplace.
v.Provide reports on any of the functions including monthly, quarterly and annual returns for each county office, workplace, approved person, and occupational safety and health officer
- Examination and Testing of Plants
We help to ensure that plants are tested and examined to guarantee that they are in a good working condition. Our Technical teams are vetted and registered by DOSHS as a Regulator. Only the approved persons do conduct the exercise.
- Accident Investigation and WIBA Processing
The standard stipulates- When an accident occurs, and an employee is injured, the employer must report to DOSHS offices within 24 hours if the accident is fatal, and within 7 days for non-fatal accidents. Using DOSHS1 form. We help you design the reporting systems and keep record of accidents and incidents at work place.SO that further investigations from regulator can be initiated and matter is harmonized file case is closed lest the employer is held liable if compensation is not done.
